Check what left your account. Subscriptions you forgot about are the most common waste there is.

Note anything renewing in the next 60 days — insurance, phone, subscriptions, MOT.

Check that your two most important accounts have a password you would not be embarrassed by.

A different password for anything holding money or email.

Two-factor authentication on your email, because every other account resets through it.

Nobody legitimate contacts you first and asks for a code, a password or a payment.

The scams aimed at youFake parcel texts, fake bank calls, fake job offers, and messages about a tax refund you never claimed. The test is the same every time: if they contacted you first and want a code, a payment or a click, it is a scam. End it, then go to the company's own website.If something has gone wrong — a scam, a missed payment, a debt you cannot pay — tell someone early.
